HERIOT-WATT UNIVERSITY, SCOTLAND
Edinburgh's Heriot-Watt University is one of the top 500 universities in the world and has branch campuses in the Scottish Borders, Orkney, Dubai and Malaysia. The Estates Team wished to move towards a digital O&M system which would allow them quick access to building information on any of their property portfolio. This information would be used by their international FM teams in conjunction with their MiCAD CAFM system, to maintain and operate each building, therefore it was important that the information could be stored in one digital location and was structured in a way that required minimal training on how to use.
One driving force behind the introduction of our Campus Digital system was that it allowed Heriot-Watt University to free up valuable archive areas and to safely backup years of hard copy building O&M information, which could potentially have been lost, for example through fire or flood.
